Kirk Bloodsworth

1993 - On March 8, 1985, Kirk Bloodsworth was convicted of sexual assault, rape, and first-degree premeditated murder of a 9-year-old girl who was found dead in a forested area. A Baltimore County judge sentenced Bloodsworth to death. In 1996, Bloodsworth's lawyer filed an appeal to have forensic testing conducted in his case. The DNA results concluded that Bloodsworth's DNA did not match any of the evidence submitted for testing. Numerous tests followed and supported the fact that Bloodsworth is not responsible for the murder. Prosecutors submitted a joint petition with Bloodsworth's attorneys to grant him a pardon. A Baltimore County Circuit judge ordered Bloodsworth released from prison on June 28, 1993.

Things some  people do are wrong. Why do people do the things they do? Was it necessary for Kirk to rape and murder this innocent 9 year old girl? No, it wasnt.

Frederick Douglass

Douglass stated, "I have often wished myself a beast, or a bird anything rather than a slave." Douglass would have wanted to be anything rather than a slave. He thought being a slave was so bad that he would give his life not to be one. Slavery is torture. Animals have more rights than a slave does. Being a slave is not only less than human, but less than an animal.

Some good quotes i found were, " There was no sorrow nor suffering for which she had not a tear, and there was no innocent joy for which she did not have a smile." And, " "You will be free, you know, as soon as you are twenty-one, and can go where you like, but I am a slave for life. Have I not as good a right to be free as you hvae?" In this, i think Douglass was talking about that every human should be treated equally.
